March 2019

Spring
The lakeshore communities of West Michigan do a fantastic job of hosting events and activities that include the whole family. There's so much happening that is geared specifically toward kids and families as a whole, and that's part of what makes being here so amazing!

Every season in West Michigan has it's unique, fun things to do for kids of all ages- from babies up to the "young at heart". Indoors or outdoors, no matter the time of year, there's always something great going on along the lakeshore for families to experience together!

Here's a list of family friendly events happening along the lakeshore in March:



Thursday, March 14th, 10am

Free Parent Information Opportunity on "ABCs of Early Literacy" at the Ludington Library- 217 E. Ludington Ave. Classes are held in conjunction with Preschool Storytime but the information can be applied to families with children older than preschool age as well. Child care is provided.


Saturday, March 16th


7:30am - Irish Jig 5k and 10k in downtown Ludington.

10am-4pm - Family Affair at Mason County Central High School- 300 W. Broadway Ave. in Scottville. Free, fun family event.

9am-9pm - Downtown Ludington St. Patrick's Day events.

12pm - Downtown Ludington St. Patrick's Day Parade.

1pm - Downtown Pentwater St. Patrick's Day Parade.


Tuesday, March 19th, 6-8pm


Kindergarten & Preschool Roundup at Ludington Area Catholic School- 700 E. Bryant Rd. in Ludington. Families with children going into preschool or kindergarten during the 2019-2020 school year are invited to find out more about the learning opportunities at LAC.


Wednesday, March 20th, 6:30pm


Fly-tying class at the Pentwater Township Library- 402 Park St. Materials and equipment will be available and the class is free and open to all ages. The class is presented by the West Michigan Hacklers. Contact John at (616) 644-7050 for more information.


Monday, March 25th, 1-3pm


Open swim at the Donald C. Baldwin Community Pool- 706 E. Tinkham Ave. in Ludington.


Wednesday, March 27th


1-3pm - Open swim at the Donald C. Baldwin Community Pool- 706 E. Tinkham Ave. in Ludington.

5:30pm - Community Fellowship Pasta Dinner to benefit local missions at Evergreen Covenant Church- 7396 S. Evergreen Rd. in Branch. Cost is $2 for adults, children eat free.


Friday, March 29th, 1-3pm


Open swim at the Donald C. Baldwin Community Pool- 706 E. Tinkham Ave. in Ludington.

Lots of Activities in Scottville, Michigan -- Explore the Riverside Park along the National Scenic Pere Marquette River.
Canoeing or Fishing on the Pere Marquette River -- Many boat liveries offer canoe rentals.
